The 25th November 2016, the Principality of Monaco signed with the European Patent Organisation (EPO) a working agreement allowing users of the system to request EPO for a pertinent technical report and a written opinion on the patentability of their invention during the filing of the Monaco invention. This is very useful for knowing the legal value and the patentability of the invention. The EPO search may then be used in the event of the filing of a European or international patent application. This new legal tool will aim to support companies in their growth and innovation policy.
